When you’re comfortable being uncomfortable

Have you got comfortable being uncomfortable?
When I talk about uncomfortable, I don’t mean the kind that helps you grow. Let’s give this some context…

Looking at client notes helps me make sense. In particular, of things that lovely women like you tend to struggle with or get stuck with, I’m familiar with the kind of things that keep you staying in one place.

I recognise that change is something that you’re scared of, but also that you’re scared what you’ll find out when you start trying to take action move you forwards.

You’re fearful what you’re going to learn about yourself. You’re scared what you’re going to come to understand, that’s been at the back of your mind for so long. Now it feels like you can’t avoid it. When you get real about what you need to change, using your Human Design chart as a guide, you’ll get to find out what that’s actually going to look like.

It’s a bit like dipping your toe in the freezing cold sea when you’re going for a dip. Oh, I really want to do it, but I really don’t want to do it at the same time.

For a while now I’ve been speaking about working with a new coach – in and on my business – and I’m really noticing some discomfort going on here. I knew I was ready to do that work, but I also had a lot of fear.
“What is it going to look like, and how is it going to feel?”

In the 2 sessions we’ve had so far, and the work we’ve done together, I have really noticed the shifts in the way that I’m seeing what I’m doing to take myself forwards. I understand why it’s so vital for me to get clear on the things that have kept me playing safe and small up until now. It’s a really interesting thing to observe. They’re the levels I struggle to go to, when it comes to building a business. And she’ll say, “I know, but I’m going to keep pushing you to go there”.

Ouch!

It’s not that it’s a horrible pain. It’s just an unfamiliar feeling of stretching that bit further.

So I just wanted to invite you to contemplate this:
Are you so used to being where you’re at, that the idea of doing things in a more expansive, deliberate way actually feels just a tiny bit too uncomfortable?

And what’s it going to take for you to make a decision that move you forwards?

If this stings, I’m sorry, but I know there are times we need to read the things that prompt us to act. Please don’t stay stuck there. I would love to help if this resonates.

I spotted this image on my Facebook memories from 7 years ago. It was what prompted this post and the video I shared in my Facebook Group The Human Design Haven for Manifesting Generators & Creatives.

It plucked my heartstrings because 10 years ago, I was just beginning the road to a very long recovery after some deep, dark personal challenges. Had you shown it to me then I would have shrivelled up and hid away somewhere. Scared of a brand new future. Scared for what change might mean. Am I glad I took those empowering steps forwards? You betcha. You can too.

Just get in touch, and we can have a conversation about what it might look like to help you move forward.

The reason other people exist to help you grow is because doing it by yourself, first of all, can often take longer, but second, doesn’t give you the outside perspective that you often need to start to be able to recognise and understand the patterns that are keeping you in that smaller, safer space.
