Go big or go home! What dreams are you allowing yourself?
Often we stop ourselves from dreaming by thinking . We prevent ourselves from really stepping forwards into what might be possible for us. When we do that, really what we do is put up an energy of resistance. We don’t believe that something more amazing might be possible. And all that’s doing is stopping us from going as big as we possibly could ever imagine. Or even more.
Sometimes we just don’t allow ourselves to daydream. We don’t trust that things are being taken care of. Because we have no evidence of that. The classic saying is ‘I’ll believe it when I see it’. But as Wayne Dyer said how about
‘I’ll see it when I believe it’.
If you believe that something is possible. It is absolutely possible.
Sit with the idea that whatever you’re dreaming about, is possible – and so much more as well.
And if you allow yourself to get hung up on the ifs, buts or maybes of changing things that are not working for you, and you don’t focus your energy on changing those things, you can’t ever expect to experience real shifts and changes.
In Atomic Habits, James Clear states that if you if you make tiny incremental improvements, even
just by 1% every single day, by the end of the year, you will have 37% expansion and improvement of whatever it is that you’ve been working towards.
So in that space where we’re stopping ourselves from thinking things because we have no evidence that they’re happening, all that we’re doing is preventing that change or that growth from being activated.
Sometimes you have a routine and then decide to do something a little bit differently. And when you do that’s when other things start to shift and move around to make that actually become possible for you.

Last Sunday. I went to a park to sing for with Tuneless choirs from Nottingham for Maggie’s Cancer Care charity.
That park holds so many memories for me because in October 2016 it’s the park that I visited when one conversation that happened that morning and I realised that I had an opportunity to take life by the balls and just keep going. And instead of going to the same park that I always went to, I chose to go to the park where I found myself on Sunday. I chose to go somewhere different. I can genuinely remember the feeling that I was doing something that was so profound, just by changing where I went and doing one thing differently, that I honestly felt as though I was changing the course of my future. I had no idea what was to come in that following year but things just kept evolving and moving, getting better, getting bigger, getting brighter, more beautiful, and a lot of it started with reacting and doing things in a different way and making different decisions. I had no idea where I was going but I trusted that the right things were happening to me in the right way. And sometimes that’s all you need to do.
Ask yourself, ‘Where can I dream a little bit bigger?
Where is my dream not big enough and where is it holding me back?’ Just ask yourself that question. Do a little bit of journalling, a little bit of reflection and then do a great big dose of daydreaming to see where it takes you.
The card from my A-Z of self care that we have today is T for talk.
Say what’s on your mind? Open up, Express Yourself. Better out than in. The affirmation that goes with this card simply says, I speak my truth.
Are you being honest about your dreams? Are they really what you want? Or are they what you think you’re supposed to want? Because if you can’t be honest with yourself, you will be making it much harder to be honest with anybody else.
If you need help re-evaluating your dreams, do get in touch – I’m right here waiting.
